Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat MIP-1alpha (CCL3). Anti-Rat MIP-1alpha (CCL3)-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Rat MIP-1alpha (CCL3) matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat MIP-1alpha (CCL3) by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Rat MIP-1alpha (CCL3) (500-P77Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat MIP-1alpha (CCL3).

Western Blot:
To detect Rat MIP-1alpha by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Rat MIP-1alpha is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Both MIP-1alpha and MIP-1beta are structurally and functionally related CC chemokines involved in host responses to bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal pathogens. They regulate the trafficking and activation of inflammatory cells such as macrophages, lymphocytes, and NK cells.
MIP-1alpha selectively attracts CD8+ lymphocytes, while MIP-1beta attracts CD4+ lymphocytes. Both are potent chemoattractants for B cells, eosinophils, and dendritic cells. Human and murine MIP-1alpha and MIP-1beta are active on both human and murine hematopoietic cells.
