Amino Acid Sequence (recombinant protein):

Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat RANTES (CCL5). The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and subsequently biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat RANTES, use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody (100 µL/well). When combined with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Rat RANTES (500-P78) as the capture antibody, it enables detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat RANTES.

Western Blot:
For Rat RANTES detection, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. In conjunction with appropriate secondary reagents, the detection limit is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

CCL5 (RANTES) is a chemokine gene located on chromosome 17q. It encodes a protein involved in immune regulation and inflammation. As a CC chemokine family member, CCL5 acts as a chemoattractant for monocytes, memory T helper cells, and eosinophils. It induces histamine release from basophils, activates eosinophils, and serves as a natural ligand for CCR5, a co-receptor for HIV-1 R5 strains. Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms. CCL5 is associated with conditions such as Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 and Periapical Granuloma.
