Amino Acid Sequence of Recombinant Protein:

Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat RANTES (CCL5). The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography using an immobilized Rat RANTES (CCL5) matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat RANTES (CCL5) by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well antibody solution), use 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody. In conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Rat RANTES (CCL5) (500-P78Bt) as detection antibody, it allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat RANTES (CCL5).

Western Blot:
For Western Blot analysis, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL of this antibody. The detection limit for Recombinant Rat RANTES is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under both reducing and non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

CCL5 (RANTES) is a chemokine gene located on the q-arm of chromosome 17. It belongs to the CC subfamily of chemokines and functions as a chemoattractant for blood monocytes, memory T helper cells, and eosinophils. CCL5 induces histamine release from basophils and activates eosinophils. It is one of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ cells and acts as a natural ligand for CCR5, suppressing in vitro replication of R5 strains of HIV-1. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Diseases associated with CCL5 include Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 and Periapical Granuloma.
