Target Information
Cathepsin 계열은 다양한 단백질분해효소를 포함하며, B, L, H, K, S, O는 cysteine protease, D와 E는 aspartyl protease, G는 serine protease에 속합니다. Cathepsin A는 serine carboxypeptidase로서 b-galactosidase (b-gal) 및 a-neuraminidase (Neu1)와 함께 고분자 리소좀 복합체를 형성합니다. 이 효소는 b-gal 및 Neu1을 리소좀 내 단백질분해로부터 보호하며, Cathepsin A 결핍은 이들 효소의 결핍을 초래합니다. 인간 Cathepsin A 유전자는 염색체 20q13.12에 위치하며, 돌연변이는 galactosialidosis라는 리소좀 저장질환을 유발합니다.
