Product Specific Information

  • Based on 100% sequence identity, this antibody is predicted to react with Bovine, Dog, Horse, Rabbit, Pig, Orangutan, Monkey, Gorilla, Chimpanzee, Northern white-cheeked gibbon, and Little brown bat.

Target Information

The human AF9 gene is one of the most common fusion partner genes with the ALL1 (MLL) gene at 11q23, resulting in the translocation t(9;11)(p22;q23).
AF9 spans more than 100 kb and contains two patient breakpoint cluster regions (BCRs):

  • BCR1 within intron 4 (site A)
  • BCR2 spanning introns 7 and 8 (site B)

Structural elements identified in AF9 include:

  • In vivo DNA topo II cleavage site
  • In vitro DNase I hypersensitive site in intron 7 (BCR2)
  • Two scaffold-associated regions (SARs) centromeric to cleavage sites: SAR1 in intron 4 and SAR2 encompassing exons 5–7

These breakpoint regions share structural features with the MLL BCR.
A DNA breakage and repair model for nonhomologous recombination between MLL and its partner genes, particularly AF9, has been proposed.
