Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
CD103 (ITGAE, Integrin alpha E) is expressed on mucosa-associated T lymphocytes and activated cells, including a subset of TGFβ1-induced cells. It consists of a 150 kDa alpha chain and a 120 kDa beta chain. CD103 is expressed by 0.5–2% of resting lymphocytes in peripheral blood and lymphoid organs.
This molecule is part of the integrin family—heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of alpha and beta chains. ITGAE encodes an I-domain-containing alpha integrin that undergoes post-translational cleavage, forming disulfide-linked heavy and light chains. In combination with beta 7 integrin, CD103 forms the E-cadherin-binding integrin known as the human mucosal lymphocyte-1 antigen.
CD103 is predominantly expressed in intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL) and may serve as both an adhesion and accessory molecule for IEL activation. Dysregulation of CD103 is associated with diseases such as hairy cell leukemia and splenic marginal zone lymphoma.
