Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Advantages:

  • Excellent specificity and sensitivity
  • Lot-to-lot consistency
  • Animal origin-free formulations
  • Broad immunoreactivity due to the large rabbit immune repertoire

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs act as signaling molecules regulating processes such as cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. This PTP contains two tandem Src homology-2 (SH2) domains that mediate interactions with phospho-tyrosine residues of substrates.

It is widely expressed in most tissues and plays a regulatory role in various signaling events important for mitogenic activation, metabolic control, transcription regulation, and cell migration. Mutations in this gene are associated with Noonan syndrome and acute myeloid leukemia.
