Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Anti-IL-29 is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the specified buffer. This antibody is specific for human IL-29 protein. A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with IL-29 from human sources based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Based on high to 100% homology, there is a possibility of cross-reactivity with IL-29 from other species, though this has not been experimentally confirmed.

Target Information

IFN-lambdas constitute a novel family of interferons that mediate anti-viral protection across various cell types. This family includes three members: lambda1 (IL-29), lambda2 (IL-28A), and lambda3 (IL-28B). Similar to type I interferons, IFN-lambdas activate intracellular signaling to induce gene expression. They function through a class II cytokine receptor complex composed of CRF2-12/IFN-lambdaR1 (unique to IFN-lambdas) and CFR2-4/IL-10R2 (shared with IL-10, IL-22, and IL-26 receptors).

IL-28 and IL-29 have been reported to prime dendritic cells to induce proliferation of Foxp3-bearing regulatory T cells. Dendritic cells differentiated in response to IFN-lambdas express high levels of class I and II MHC molecules but low levels of costimulatory molecules, and can induce IL-2-dependent proliferation of CD4+CD25+FOXP3+ T cells with contact-dependent suppressive activity.
