Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Anti-Fractalkine is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography, followed by extensive dialysis against the specified buffer. This antibody is specific for human Fractalkine protein. A BLAST analysis indicated 100% homology with the immunizing sequence, suggesting specificity for human Fractalkine. Cross-reactivity with other species has not been determined.

Target Information

Chemokines are a family of proteins involved in leukocyte trafficking during immune surveillance and inflammation. They are classified based on the positions of key cysteine residues. CX3CL1 (Fractalkine) is a CX3C chemokine that mediates leukocyte adhesion and migration via membrane-bound and soluble forms. It can suppress the production of nitric oxide, interleukin-6, and TNF-α in activated microglia and neuronal cells, acting as an intrinsic inhibitor against neurotoxicity. Its receptor, CX3CR1, also serves as a co-receptor for HIV-1 and HIV-2 envelope fusion and infection, which can be inhibited by CX3CL1.
