Target Information
STING is a 379 amino acid signaling protein that plays a crucial role in innate immune signaling. It activates NF-κB and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce type I interferon (IFN-α and IFN-β) expression, contributing to antiviral defense. STING may also have translocon functions influencing interferon induction and apoptotic signal transduction via MHC-II association. It is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane, and is expressed ubiquitously across tissues.
