Target Information
STING is a 379-amino-acid signaling protein that plays a crucial role in innate immune signaling. It activates both NF-κB and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce type I interferon (IFN-α and IFN-β) expression, establishing a strong antiviral state. STING may function as a translocon influencing interferon induction and is involved in apoptotic signal transduction via MHC-II association. It helps detect intracellular viral RNA and B-form DNA and mediates death signaling through ERK pathway activation. STING is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane and is ubiquitously expressed across most tissues.
