Product Specific Information
The 2G10 monoclonal antibody recognizes beta tubulin class III, a member of the tubulin family forming microtubules in the cytoskeletal network. Beta tubulin class III expression is specific to neuronal cells in adult mammals and transiently expressed during fetal development in glial and neuronal precursors. It serves as a structural marker for developing and mature neural cells.
Applications Reported: Suitable for immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin sections), microscopy, and immunocytochemistry.
Applications Tested: Validated for immunocytochemistry of formaldehyde-fixed and permeabilized cells at ≤10 µg/mL. Optimal dilution should be determined experimentally.
Excitation: 488 nm; Emission: 519 nm; Laser: Blue Laser.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
BetaIII-tubulin is a neuronal marker and an early indicator of neuronal differentiation. It is used as a probe for neuronal cells and tumors of neuronal origin. Although predominantly expressed in neuronal cells, it is also found in Sertoli cells of the testis and transiently in non-neuronal embryonic tissues.
