Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody DM1A recognizes the 50 kDa cytoskeletal protein alpha tubulin across multiple species, including human, mouse, rat, monkey, dog, pig, bovine, goat, hamster, guinea pig, kangaroo, amphibians, sea urchin, yeast, and tobacco plants.
Tubulin, the major component of microtubules, is a dimeric GTP-binding protein composed of alpha and beta subunits. It undergoes phosphorylation and acetylation, influencing polymerization and depolymerization dynamics.
The DM1A antibody binds to the C-terminal end of alpha tubulin (amino acids 426–430).
Applications Reported: Immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical staining.
Applications Tested: Tested by immunocytochemistry of adherent cells at ≤5 µg/mL (optimize per assay).
Excitation: 488 nm
Emission: 519 nm
Laser: Blue Laser
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
Alpha Tubulin forms a heterodimer with beta tubulin, each approximately 55 kDa. This dimer is the fundamental building block of microtubules, essential for cellular structure, intracellular transport, and mitosis.
Microtubules are present in nearly all eukaryotic cells, with alpha and beta tubulin as major components and gamma tubulin aiding nucleation.
Alpha and beta tubulin genes are highly conserved among species, with expression prominent in differentiated neuronal cells.
