Mouse anti-Pig CD14, clone MIL2 recognizes porcine CD14.
Target Information
CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It functions as a multifunctional lipopolysaccharide (LPS) receptor and is released into serum as both secreted and cleaved forms. CD14 binds LPS in a reaction catalyzed by lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP). The soluble form (sCD14) can distinguish structural differences in LPS and plays a role in neutralizing serum lipopolysaccharides. CD14 also binds apoptotic cells and is implicated in allergic, inflammatory, and infectious processes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same isoform. CD14 dysfunction is associated with conditions such as Mycobacterium chelonae infection and croup.
