Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody HHF35 recognizes muscle actin, specifically the alpha and gamma forms found in skeletal, cardiac, and smooth muscle. No reactivity to the beta form is observed. The 42 kDa actin protein is a key component of the cytoskeletal structural network.

HHF35 has been shown to recognize actin from smooth muscle cells of the heart, bladder, uterus, gastrointestinal tract, and diaphragm. It stains tumors of muscle origin such as leiomyomas, leiomyosarcomas, and rhabdomyosarcomas.

This antibody recognizes actin from human, mouse, rat, bovine, pig, guinea pig, sheep, frog, canine, and non-human primate sources.

Applications Reported:
Used for immunohistochemical staining of frozen and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections and for western blotting.

Applications Tested:
Tested by immunohistochemistry on FFPE human pancreas (with IHC Antigen Retrieval Solution - Low pH, Product # 00-4955-58) and can be used at ≤5 µg/mL. Antibody should be carefully titrated for optimal performance.

Mutations in this gene are associated with nemaline myopathy type 3, congenital myopathies, and muscle fiber defects.
