Preparation
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human BAFF. Anti-Human BAFF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA
To detect Human BAFF by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody. When used with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human BAFF (500-P163) as a capture antibody, it allows detection of at least 2000–4000 pg/mL of Recombinant Human BAFF.

Western Blot
To detect Human BAFF by Western Blot, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL of this antibody. With compatible development reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human BAFF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

BAFF is a membrane-bound cytokine expressed by B cell lineage cells. The soluble form binds to receptors TNFRSF13B/TACI, TNFRSF17/BCMA, and TNFRSF13C/BAFFR. It is a potent activator of B cells, promoting proliferation and differentiation. BAFF is also expressed by T lymphocytes and supports T cell activation and survival. Isoforms representing alternatively spliced and glycosylated variants have been identified.
