Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human BAFF. Anti-Human BAFF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human BAFF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human BAFF (500-P163) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 2000–4000 pg/mL of Recombinant Human BAFF.

Western Blot:
To detect Human BAFF by Western Blot, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible development reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human BAFF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

BAFF is a membrane-bound cytokine expressed by B cell lineage cells. The soluble form binds to receptors TNFRSF13B/TACI, TNFRSF17/BCMA, and TNFRSF13C/BAFFR.
It acts as a potent B cell activator essential for proliferation and differentiation, and is also expressed by T lymphocytes, promoting T cell activation and survival.
Isoforms representing alternatively spliced and glycosylated variants have been identified.
