This antibody recognizes the membrane-bound form of HLA-G (full-length HLA-G1), but not soluble forms.
HLA-G is a nonclassical MHC Class I molecule expressed on trophoblast cell surfaces.
It does not cross-react with mouse or rat antigens.
Target Information
HLA-G is a member of the HLA class I heavy chain family. It forms a heterodimer with beta-2 microglobulin, with the heavy chain anchored in the membrane.
It is expressed on fetal-derived placental cells. The heavy chain (~45 kDa) gene contains 8 exons encoding leader peptide, alpha domains, transmembrane region, and cytoplasmic tail.
HLA and MHC antibodies are crucial in Immunopeptidomics, aiding neoantigen identification and characterization via LC-MS/MS.
