Product Specific Information

This antibody recognizes both membrane-bound and soluble forms of HLA-G (HLA-G1 and HLA-G5).
HLA-G belongs to the MHC Class I molecules (MHC Class Ib; nonclassical) and is expressed on the surface of trophoblast cells.
It does not cross-react with mouse or rat.


Target Information

HLA-G is one of the HLA class I heavy chain paralogues.
It forms a heterodimer consisting of a heavy chain and a light chain (beta-2 microglobulin).
The heavy chain (~45 kDa) gene contains 8 exons:

  1. Exon 1: leader peptide
  2. Exons 2–3: α1 and α2 domains (peptide binding)
  3. Exon 4: α3 domain
  4. Exon 5: transmembrane region
  5. Exon 6: cytoplasmic tail

HLA-G is expressed on fetal-derived placental cells.
HLA and MHC antibodies are crucial in Immunopeptidomics, enabling identification and characterization of neoantigens via LC-MS/MS analysis.
