Target Information
Lactoferrin (LF)은 철(Fe³⁺)을 결합하는 당단백질로, 단일 폴리펩타이드 사슬(약 80 kDa)로 구성되어 있으며 두 개의 구조적으로 유사한 로브(lobe)를 포함합니다. 각 로브는 하나의 ferric ion을 가역적으로 결합할 수 있습니다.
LF는 우유 및 점막 분비물 등 외부 체액에 존재하며, 호중구의 2차 과립에 풍부하게 함유되어 있습니다. 철 항상성 조절, 미생물 감염에 대한 방어, 항염증 작용, 세포 성장 및 분화 조절, 암 발생 및 전이 억제 등 다양한 생리적 기능을 가집니다.
LTF는 미생물 감염에 대한 1차 방어 단백질로 작용하며, Fe³⁺를 결합 및 제거하는 능력 외에도 세균 단백질 내 아르기닌 풍부 서열을 절단하는 단백질분해 활성을 가집니다. LTF에는 LTF-α, LTF-β, LTF-γ의 세 가지 동형이 존재하며, 수용체는 위장관, 대식세포, 림프구, 호중구, 혈소판 및 일부 세균에서 발현됩니다.
