This antibody recognizes RLTPR / CARMIL2, an intracellular protein playing a role in actin filament elongation.
Target Information
RLTPR/CARMIL2 (RGD motif, leucine rich repeats, tropomodulin domain and proline-rich containing; capping protein regulator and myosin 1 linker 2), also known as LRRC16C, is a cytosolic protein that binds CAPZA2 (capping protein muscle actin Z-line alpha 2) and modulates actin filament elongation.
It is essential for lamellipodial protrusion, cell translocation, and T cell costimulation via CD28, independent of actin-uncapping function.
Deficiency of functional RLTPR/CARMIL2 leads to combined immunodeficiency and impaired Th1/Th17 differentiation.
Expression also occurs in human and murine B cells, though not involved in BCR-mediated signaling.
