Product Specific Information

This antibody binds to an intracellular epitope of rat Phospholipid Scramblase 1 (PLSCR1), a 37–49 kDa protein involved in accelerating bidirectional movement of plasma membrane phospholipids under elevated calcium conditions.
Western blotting is compatible with both reducing and non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Phospholipid scramblase 1 (PLSCR1) is a calcium-dependent plasma membrane protein that mediates transbilayer movement of phosphatidylserine and other phospholipids upon calcium influx. This process contributes to membrane remodeling and surface exposure of phosphatidylserine in injured or apoptotic cells, leading to cell death.
PLSCR1 expression is induced by interferons and cytokines, suggesting a role in cytokine signaling. EGF stimulation leads to tyrosine phosphorylation of PLSCR1 at residues 69 and 74, enabling interaction with Shc and linking Src kinase activation to EGF receptor signaling.
