Product Specific Information

  • Carrier-Free
  • Reconstitution: Briefly centrifuge vial before opening. Reconstitute lyophilized hG-CSF in sterile deionized water to 0.1–1.0 mg/mL for full activity.
    Apportion stock solutions into aliquots and store at ≤ -20°C.
    Further dilutions should be made in low endotoxin medium or buffered solution with FBS or tissue culture grade BSA.
  • Storage:
    Lyophilized hG-CSF should be stored at 2–8°C, preferably desiccated.
    Store reconstituted hG-CSF at ≤ -20°C (not in a frost-free freezer).
    Minimize freeze-thaw cycles.

Target Information

G-CSF (Granulocyte colony stimulating factor) is a cytokine that stimulates production and antibacterial function of neutrophils and monocytes.
Human G-CSF is an 18.8 kDa protein with 175 amino acid residues. It is produced by activated monocytes, macrophages, endothelial cells, fibroblasts, astrocytes, osteoblasts, and bone marrow cells.
It influences proliferation, differentiation, and activation of hematopoietic cells and is expressed by various transformed cells such as carcinoma and myeloblastic leukemia cells.
G-CSF is encoded by two DNA sequences, yielding high-activity and low-activity isoforms. Highly conserved among species, it acts via its receptor on hematopoietic progenitors and granulocytes.

Clinical relevance:
Approved for therapeutic applications including treatment of neonatal infections, acute myocardial infarction, granulocyte transfusion in neutropenia, severe infections and sepsis, chronic autoimmune neutropenia, acute myeloid leukemias, Sweet’s syndrome, and AIDS.
It is also a marker for carcinomas such as bladder cancer and linked to Kostmann Syndrome.
