Description:
The monoclonal antibody X1AO2 recognizes human Brachyury, a 47 kDa nuclear transcription factor encoded by the T gene. It binds to specific DNA regions near the palindromic sequence TCACACCT (T-site) through the N-terminal T-box domain. Brachyury regulates midline development and mesoderm formation during embryogenesis and serves as a key mesoderm marker distinguishing embryonic stem cell differentiation into mesenchymal lineages.
Mutations in the T gene are associated with neural tube defects and chordomas. Elevated Brachyury expression is observed in advanced lung tumors and various tumor cell lines.
