Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies from Thermo Fisher Scientific combine multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies, offering both the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies and the specificity of monoclonals, with the consistency of recombinant production.
They recognize multiple epitope sites on the target, providing higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets.
Each lot contains a defined mixture of light and heavy chains, ensuring reproducibility and eliminating biological variability common in traditional polyclonals.

Target Information
CD56 (NCAM, Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule) is a transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin family that functions as an adhesive molecule and is widely expressed in the nervous system in isoforms ranging from 120–180 kDa.
It is found on T cells and NK cells, playing roles in cell migration, axonal growth, pathfinding, and synaptic plasticity.
Polysialic modification reduces CD56-mediated adhesion. CD56 mediates homophilic and heterophilic interactions with extracellular components such as laminin and integrins.
It is expressed in most neuroectodermal-derived cell lines, tissues, and tumors, including retinoblastoma, medulloblastoma, astrocytomas, and neuroblastoma.
CD56 is a widely used neuroendocrine marker with high sensitivity for neuroendocrine and ovarian granulosa cell tumors.
Diseases associated with CD56 dysfunction include rabies and blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasms.
