Product Specific Information
This antibody is predicted to react with non-human primate based on sequence homology.
Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They combine multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, providing both the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies and the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, with the consistency of recombinant production.
These antibodies recognize multiple epitopes on the target, offering higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets. Each lot is reproducible, eliminating biological variability associated with polyclonal antibody production.
Note: Formerly called “Recombinant polyclonal antibody”, now rebranded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ antibody”. Physical and performance characteristics remain unchanged.
Target Information
Fibrinogen is a coagulable protein in vertebrate blood plasma and the precursor of fibrin. Upon vascular injury, thrombin cleaves fibrinogen to form fibrin, the main component of blood clots.
Fibrinogen consists of a dimer of three non-identical chains (FGA, FGB, FGG) cross-linked by disulfide bonds. It contains two terminal D domains and one central E domain, which are separated upon degradation by plasmin.
Mutations in the fibrinogen gene can cause disorders such as dysfibrinogenemia, afibrinogenemia, and renal amyloidosis.
