This antibody is predicted to react with non-human primate, mouse, and rat based on sequence homology.

Formerly known as “Recombinant polyclonal antibody”, this product has been rebranded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ antibody” with no change in physical product or performance.

Target Information

IFN gamma (Interferon gamma, Type II interferon) is a macrophage activation factor and immune interferon produced primarily by T-lymphocytes and natural killer cells in response to antigens, mitogens, and cytokines.
It is a dimeric glycoprotein (~45 kDa) composed of two 146 amino acid subunits. On SDS-PAGE, it appears as 25, 20, and minor 15.5 kDa bands due to differential glycosylation.
Human IFN gamma shows species-specific activity and does not cross-react with mouse IFN gamma.

Biological functions include:

• Antiviral and tumor antiproliferative activity
• Induction of MHC class I and II expression
• Macrophage activation
• Enhancement of immunoglobulin secretion by B lymphocytes
• Cytokine regulation and synergy with other cytokines

Activation occurs via IFN gamma receptor I and II, initiating the JAK-STAT signaling pathway.
Gene mutations are associated with aplastic anemia. Expression is upregulated by IL-2, FGF basic, EGF, and downregulated by vitamin D3 or DMN.
