Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They comprise a selection of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, providing both the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies and the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, with the consistency of recombinant production.

Functionally similar to polyclonal antibodies, they recognize multiple epitope sites on the target, ensuring higher detection sensitivity for low abundance targets. Each lot contains a known mixture of light and heavy chains, eliminating biological variability commonly seen in polyclonal antibody production.

Target Information

The 6x His tag is a synthetic oligopeptide consisting of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH). It is commonly expressed at either the N- or C-terminal regions of recombinant proteins to enable purification via immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC).

Epitope tagging allows detection of recombinant proteins when no specific antibody is available. His-tagged proteins can be purified using the strong and selective affinity of histidine clusters for Ni²⁺ ions on Ni²⁺-NTA adsorbents. His tag-specific antibodies facilitate detection or co-immunoprecipitation of tagged proteins.
