For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).

Target Information

Vimentin is a developmentally regulated intermediate filament protein (IFP) found in cells of mesenchymal origin. It plays a role in intracellular transport between the nucleus and plasma membrane. During early cellular development, vimentin is co-expressed with desmin and later replaced by tissue-specific IFPs.
Vimentin is involved in steroid synthesis regulation by serving as a storage network for cholesterol-containing lipid droplets. Phosphorylation by protein kinase induces filament breakdown and cytoskeletal rearrangements that enhance cholesterol transport to mitochondria, increasing steroid synthesis.
