Product Specific Information
1 µg/mL of MA5-45309 was sufficient for detection of Trap-1/HSP75 in 20 µg of Human A431 lysate by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-rabbit IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 75 kDa.
Target Information
The 90 kDa heat shock protein (Hsp90) family of molecular chaperones is highly conserved and plays important physiological roles. Hsp90 is involved in numerous cellular processes and is associated with signal transduction machinery.
TRAP1, a homolog of Hsp90, is associated with various proteins and is localized in the mitochondria of mammalian cells. The presence of a mitochondrial targeting presequence suggests that TRAP1 functions as a mitochondrial matrix protein.
