Product Specific Information

  • Reconstitute antibody with 50 µL of double distilled water (DDW).
  • Store reconstituted solution at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer storage, aliquot and keep at −20°C.
  • Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
  • Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

The KIR (inwardly rectifying potassium channel) family preferentially allows potassium influx into cells.
KIR4.1 (Kir1.2) is highly expressed in the brain, including glial cells, astrocytes, and cortical neurons.
It is also found in myelin-synthesizing oligodendrocytes and plays a crucial role in myelination during nervous system development.
The human KIR4.1 gene maps to chromosome 1.
KIR4.2 (Kir1.3) is expressed in kidney, lung, heart, thymus, and thyroid, and is linked to chromosome 21, potentially related to Down syndrome pathogenesis.
KIR5.1 forms functional channels only when coexpressed with KIR4.1 or KIR4.2 in kidney and pancreas.
