Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
PKN1 (PRK1) belongs to the protein kinase C superfamily. This kinase is activated by the Rho family of small G proteins and may mediate the Rho-dependent signaling pathway. It can also be activated by phospholipids. PDPK1/PDK1 phosphorylates this kinase, mediating insulin signals to the actin cytoskeleton. Proteolytic activation by caspase-3 during apoptosis suggests its role in apoptotic signal transduction. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed.
