Target Information
The PMS1 gene encodes a protein belonging to the DNA mismatch repair mutL/hexB family. This protein is involved in the repair of DNA mismatches and forms heterodimers with MLH1, another DNA mismatch repair protein. Mutations in PMS1 are associated with hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer type 3 (HNPCC3), also known as Lynch syndrome.
