Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Mitochondrial peripheral-type benzodiazepine receptor (PBR), also known as TSPO, plays a critical role in steroidogenesis by mediating cholesterol transport into mitochondria. It consists of multiple subunits including an isoquinoline binding site, voltage-dependent anion channel, and adenine nucleotide carrier. PBR is evolutionarily conserved and expressed in various peripheral tissues, with limited expression in the brain, mainly in glial cells. PFDA (perfluorodecanoic acid) inhibits Leydig cell steroidogenesis by decreasing PBR mRNA stability and expression, thereby reducing cholesterol transport and steroid formation. PRAX-1 (Peripheral Benzodiazepine Receptor-Associated Protein 1) specifically interacts with PBR.
