MA3-500 detects PIP2 from human tissues.
MA3-500 has been successfully used in ELISA, Immunoprecipitation, Immunofluorescence, and Western blotting procedures.
The MA3-500 antigen is liposomes containing synthetic di-palmitoyl PtdIns(4,5)P2.

Target Information

Phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2) is an important second messenger in numerous signaling processes. Upon extracellular stimulation, phospholipase C cleaves phosphatidylinositol into DAG and PIP2. PIP2 interacts with actin structural proteins such as profilin, gelsolin, and cofilin, regulating actin polymerization. It also regulates vesicular transport by interacting with proteins like ADP-ribosylation factor and phospholipase D, and influences intracellular calcium levels affecting various cellular activities.
