Target Information
Luciferase는 빛을 방출하는 반응을 촉매하는 효소로, 박테리아, 조류, 곰팡이, 해파리, 곤충, 새우 및 오징어 등 다양한 생물에서 발견됩니다. 이러한 생물들이 생성하는 빛은 생물발광(bioluminescence)이라 불립니다.
박테리아에서는 빛을 내는 반응을 담당하는 유전자(lux genes)가 분리되어, 최대 490 nm의 청록색 빛을 방출하는 바이오리포터 제작에 널리 활용됩니다.
lux 유전 시스템은 luxA, luxB, luxC, luxD, luxE의 다섯 유전자로 구성되며, 조합에 따라 다양한 종류의 생물발광 리포터를 만들 수 있습니다.
