The 1G8 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse ESAM (endothelial cell-selective adhesion molecule).
ESAM is a 55-kDa membrane protein composed of two extracellular Ig domains, a single transmembrane domain, and a 120 amino acid cytoplasmic domain.
It is related to members of the junctional adhesion molecule (JAM) family and is expressed on endothelial cells and activated platelets.
At endothelial tight junctions, ESAM plays a role in regulating vascular permeability in response to agents such as VEGF or extravasating neutrophils.

Applications Reported:
This 1G8 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
This 1G8 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis and can be used at ≤0.25 µg per test.
A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL.
Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
It is recommended to titrate the antibody for optimal performance.
