Carrier-Free
- Source: (BTI-Tn-5B1-4) Hi-5 Insect cells
- Reconstitution:
Centrifuge the vial briefly before opening to bring the contents to the bottom.
Reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile PBS containing 0.1% human serum albumin.
Make further dilutions in low endotoxin medium or buffered solution containing a carrier protein such as heat-inactivated FCS or tissue culture grade BSA. - Storage:
Store the lyophilized protein at ≤ -20°C, preferably desiccated.
Upon reconstitution, apportion into working aliquots and store at ≤ -20°C.
Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Target Information
Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) regulates cell growth, motility, and morphogenesis by activating a tyrosine kinase signaling cascade through binding to the c-Met receptor. It is secreted by mesenchymal cells and acts as a multifunctional cytokine on epithelial cells. HGF plays a central role in angiogenesis, tumorigenesis, and tissue regeneration. It is secreted as an inactive polypeptide that is cleaved into a 69-kDa alpha-chain and 34-kDa beta-chain, forming an active heterodimer via a disulfide bond. This protein belongs to the plasminogen subfamily of S1 peptidases but lacks protease activity. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms are produced by alternative splicing.
