Reconstitution:
Centrifuge the vial briefly before opening to collect contents at the bottom. Reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile, distilled water to a concentration of 0.1–0.5 mg/mL. Divide into aliquots and store at ≤ -20°C. Make further dilutions in medium or buffered solution containing carrier protein (e.g., PBS with 0.1% BSA).

Storage:
Store the lyophilized protein at 2–8°C, preferably desiccated. After reconstitution, apportion into aliquots and store at ≤ -20°C (not in a frost-free freezer). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

FGF2 (FGFb, fibroblast growth factor basic)는 FGF 패밀리에 속하며, 고친화성 수용체와 결합하여 세포 증식 및 신생혈관 형성에 관여합니다.
FGF2는 서로 다른 세포 내 위치와 기능을 갖는 다섯 가지 isoform으로 존재합니다.

• 18 kDa isoform: 세포질에 존재하며 세포 표면 수용체를 통해 작용
• 22–34 kDa isoforms: 핵 내에 존재하며 수용체 비의존적 신호 전달 가능

FGF2 유전자는 인간 4번 염색체 q arm에 위치하며, 사지 및 신경계 발달, 상처 치유, 종양 성장 등 다양한 생물학적 과정에 관련되어 있습니다.
FGF2 mRNA는 여러 polyadenylation 부위를 가지며, 비전형적 개시코돈(CUG)과 전형적 개시코돈(AUG)에서 번역되어 다섯 가지 isoform을 생성합니다.
CUG-개시 isoform은 핵 내에서 작용(내분비 효과), AUG-개시 isoform은 주로 세포질에서 작용(자가분비 및 측분비 효과)을 나타냅니다.
FGF2 기능 이상은 Kaposi Sarcoma 및 각막 신생혈관화 등과 관련이 있습니다.
