• Reconstitution: Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening to collect contents at the bottom. Reconstitute in water to 0.1–1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex. Store at 2–8°C for up to 1 week. For long-term storage, dilute in buffer with carrier protein (e.g., 0.1% BSA) and store aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.
• Storage: Lyophilized protein stable at room temperature for 1 month; store at -20°C for long-term. Working aliquots with carrier protein stable ≥12 months at -20°C to -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Target Information

FGF19 (Fibroblast Growth Factor 19) is encoded by the FGF19 gene, located on chromosome 11q13.3. The deduced 216-amino acid protein includes a signal sequence and two conserved cysteine residues typical of the FGF family. Expression is detected in fetal but not adult brain tissue.
FGF19 interacts synergistically with Wnt-8c in inner ear development and stimulates hepatic protein and glycogen synthesis without inducing lipogenesis. Its effects are independent of insulin or Akt activity and are mediated via MAPK signaling, enhancing protein translation and glycogen synthase activity.
The mouse ortholog, FGF15, shares ~50% amino acid identity and similar functions, collectively referred to as FGF15/19.
