Product Specific Information
Antibody detects endogenous levels of Gab2 only when phosphorylated at Ser159.
Target Information
This gene belongs to the GRB2-associated binding protein (GAB) family. These proteins contain a pleckstrin homology (PH) domain and bind SHP2 tyrosine phosphatase and GRB2 adapter protein. They function as adapters transmitting signals in response to cytokine and growth factor receptor activation, as well as T- and B-cell antigen receptor stimulation. The encoded protein is a key activator of phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase upon high-affinity IgE receptor activation. Two alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been identified.
