Target Information

In mice, CD4+ helper T-cells differentiate into type 1 (Th1) and type 2 (Th2) cells, which are critical for cell-mediated immunity and antibody responses. Th1 differentiation is mainly influenced by IL12, while IL4 promotes Th2 differentiation. Mice deficient in these cytokines, their receptors, or related transcription factors show impaired but not absent Th1/Th2 responses.
The gene discussed encodes a protein similar to the mouse T-cell cytokine receptor Tccr at the amino acid level and is predicted to be a glycosylated transmembrane protein.
Diseases associated with IL27RA include Hyper IgE Recurrent Infection Syndrome 4 and Crisponi/Cold-Induced Sweating Syndrome 2.
