Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional round of desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is a key mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation.
Ubiquitination involves three enzyme classes:
- Ubiquitin-activating enzymes (E1s)
- Ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes (E2s)
- Ubiquitin-protein ligases (E3s)
The UBE2G2 gene encodes a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family and shares 100% sequence identity with its mouse counterpart. It is ubiquitously expressed, with high levels in adult muscle. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
