This antibody is predicted to react with mouse, rabbit, and non-human primate based on sequence homology.

Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are composed of multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity and consistency of monoclonal antibodies. Each lot is produced with a known mixture of light and heavy chains, ensuring reproducibility and eliminating biological variability found in traditional polyclonal antibody production.

Formerly called “Recombinant polyclonal antibody”, this product is now rebranded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ antibody”. The physical product and performance remain unchanged.

Target Information

Tau is a neuronal microtubule-associated protein found predominantly on axons. It promotes tubulin polymerization and stabilizes microtubules. The C-terminus binds axonal microtubules while the N-terminus binds neural plasma membrane components, acting as a linker between both structures. Hyper-phosphorylated Tau is the major component of paired helical filaments (PHF) in Alzheimer’s disease brains, leading to microtubule destabilization and neuronal degeneration. Tau phosphorylation is mediated by kinases such as GSK-3β, PKA, cdk5, and casein kinase II. Abnormal Tau phosphorylation is associated with various neurodegenerative disorders, including Pick’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, and progressive supranuclear palsy.
