This antibody is predicted to react with mouse, rat, non-human primate, and rabbit based on sequence homology.

Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity and consistency of monoclonal antibodies.

These antibodies recognize multiple epitope sites on the target, providing higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets. Each batch contains a defined mixture of light and heavy chains, ensuring reproducibility and eliminating biological variability typically seen in polyclonal antibody production.

Target Information

MMP13 (collagenase 3) is involved in the degradation of extracellular matrix proteins, including fibrillar collagen, fibronectin, tenascin C, and aggrecan. It cleaves triple-helical collagens (types I, II, and III), with the highest activity toward soluble type II collagen, and can also degrade collagen types IV, XIV, and X.

MMP13 plays a role in wound healing, tissue remodeling, cartilage degradation, bone development, mineralization, and ossification. It is essential for normal embryonic bone development, and mutations in the gene can cause skeletal disorders such as spondyloepimetaphyseal dysplasia Missouri type, metaphyseal anadysplasia 1, and metaphyseal dysplasia Sphar type.
