Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information
Calmodulin mediates control of numerous enzymes, ion channels, aquaporins, and other proteins via Ca²⁺ regulation. The calmodulin–Ca²⁺ complex stimulates various protein kinases and phosphatases. Together with CCP110 and centrin, it participates in a genetic pathway regulating the centrosome cycle and cytokinesis.
Calmodulin is a small, highly conserved calcium-binding protein (17 kDa) found in all eukaryotic cells. It binds up to four calcium ions and undergoes conformational changes that enhance affinity for target proteins. It functions directly by interacting with target enzymes and indirectly via specific kinases.
Biological roles include:
- Regulation of metabolism and cell motility
- Exocytosis and cytoskeletal assembly
- Modulation of intracellular cAMP and calcium levels
- Participation in growth, cell cycle, and neurotransmitter synthesis
Calmodulin consists of 149 amino acids and contains four calcium-binding domains. It is the archetype of calcium-modulated proteins found in the cytosol or on cytosolic-facing membranes with high calcium affinity.
