Product Specific Information

The UCHT2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD5, a 67 kDa protein expressed by most thymocytes, mature T cells, and a subset of B cells. CD5 signaling activates T cells and mediates T-B cell interactions via CD72 binding. UCHT2 also recognizes primate CD5.

Each product contains:

• 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
• 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Normal human peripheral blood cells (≤5 µL/test, 0.4 µg/test).
A test is defined as the amount of antibody staining a cell sample in 100 µL final volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.

Compatibility Note:
NovaFluor dyes are incompatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for NovaFluor dyes.

Blocking Buffer Use:
This conjugate ships with CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01).
Use 5 µL per sample for optimal staining. For single-color controls, add 5 µL per 100 µL cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).

NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology, employing engineered nucleic acid dye structures designed to minimize spillover and spectral spread.

Target Information

CD5 is a 67 kDa human T-lymphocyte transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on mature T cells, thymocytes, and subsets of activated B cells. It plays a role in regulating T-cell proliferation and is found on 95% of thymocytes and 72% of peripheral blood lymphocytes. CD5 is associated with thymus cancer and Richter’s Syndrome.
