Product Specific Information

The UCHT2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD5, a 67 kDa protein expressed by a majority of thymocytes and mature T cells and a subset of B cells. CD5 signaling activates T cells and mediates T-B cell interactions through CD72 binding.

Each product contains:

• 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
• 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Normal human peripheral blood cells, ≤5 µL (0.4 µg)/test in 100 µL final volume. Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Optimize antibody titration for best results.

Compatibility Notes:
NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes such as propidium iodide, 7-AAD, and DAPI. Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability assays.

Buffer Information:
CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining. Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails or single-color controls.

Target Information

CD5 is a 67 kDa human T-lymphocyte transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on mature T cells, thymocytes, and subsets of B cells. It plays a role in T-cell proliferation and regulation.
Associated diseases include thymus cancer and Richter’s Syndrome.
