Product Specific Information

The 390 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD31 (PECAM-1, gpIIa), a 130–140 kDa surface protein expressed by endothelial cells and at low levels on leukocytes and platelets. CD31 mediates homotypic adhesion and participates in signal transduction, cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions.

Each product includes:

• 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
• 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis and immunohistochemical staining of frozen tissue sections.
Applications Tested: Validated on mouse thymocytes and splenocytes.

Important Notes:

• NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for compatibility.
• CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining.
  • Add 5 µL per sample (10³–10⁸ cells) to antibody cocktails or controls.

NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology, providing engineered fluorescent signatures optimized for minimal spillover and spectral spread.

Target Information

CD31 (PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor regulating T and B cell signaling through ITIM motifs. It is expressed widely in vascular endothelium, mainly at cell junctions, mediating homophilic binding and cell-cell interactions. CD31 functions in:

• Integrin-mediated adhesion
• Transendothelial migration
• Angiogenesis and apoptosis
• Immunoreceptor signaling regulation
• Autoimmunity and thrombosis control
