Product Specific Information

Description:
The MQ1-17H12 antibody reacts with human interleukin-2 (IL-2), a 17 kDa T cell growth factor and major immunoregulatory cytokine. This antibody is non-neutralizing.

Applications Reported:
Used for intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometry of stimulated normal human peripheral blood cells using the Intracellular Fixation & Permeabilization Buffer Set (Product # 88-8824-00) and corresponding protocol.
Use at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test in a final volume of 100 µL. Suitable for 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Fluorochrome Information:
PE-eFluor® 610 can be excited with 488–561 nm laser lines and emits at 607 nm. Recommended detection filter: 610/20 band pass (PE-Texas Red® equivalent). Protect from light due to photo-induced oxidation sensitivity.

Fixation:
Samples may be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) with minimal impact on brightness and compensation.

Target Information

Interleukin-2 (IL-2):
An immunomodulatory cytokine essential for proliferation of activated T cells and differentiation of B cells, NK cells, monocytes, and macrophages. IL-2 signals through IL-2R, a heterotrimeric receptor sharing the gamma chain with IL-4 and IL-7. Monoallelic expression in mature thymocytes ensures precise regulation. Disruption of the IL-2 gene in mice induces an ulcerative colitis-like disease, highlighting its immune regulatory role.
